Don’t Skip

Don’t Skip days – Doing something is better than just Skipping

This week we focus on the power of consistency.  Don’t skip days or weeks working on whatever it is you are trying to improve.  If you are trying to grow your business, whether it be through creating content, calling prospective clients, or scheduling in person meetings don’t skip days.  This doesn’t mean don’t take days off, or have rest days, vacation etc.  That time is vital to re-charge, and reset yourself after working so hard.

However, do not skip days.  If you are busy, you must make sure that you make time for the thing you are trying to grow / improve.  I am guilty of this too.  Sometimes I get busy, and can’t accomplish the things I know work in growing my business.  Or sometimes, I don’t do my morning workout because I do not have the time, or I am to tired from the day before.

This is what I am talking about when I mean skipping a day.  Let’s say you plan on going to the gym every morning, in an attempt to be in better shape, and you wake up one morning exhausted because work was hectic, and you didn’t get home late, or you had a fight with a partner and didn’t sleep – whatever it is, do not sacrifice your improvement because of what happened.

Even if you can only do 10% of whatever it is you normally do, that is better than doing nothing.  Keeping the consistency of your habit will make you feel better in the end, even if you are exhausted in the moment.

I cannot remember where the quote is from, but the quote is “laziness makes today easy, and tomorrow difficult, hard work and dedication make today difficult and tomorrow easy.  Choose your pain.”

Do not skip on the things you have set in motion simply because something new comes up.  You need to make sure you plan to include time for these things.  I apologize because I cannot remember their name, but there was a person on Tik Tok, who talks about life as someone who is self-employed and works on commission.  They mentioned that you should split your day into two chunks.  Spent 50% of your time working on current projects and 50% of the time on new business.

Now it may not always be that even, but if you try and strive for that breakdown there will always be new business coming in that will replenish the stuff you start.  In non-business realms, this still tracks, because it allows you to budget some of your time (even if the amount of time changes per day) to the thing you are trying to improve.  This allows you not to skip working on yourself in whatever avenue you are pursuing.
